Jonathan Himmelhoch, on the Clinical Hospital Patient Material, published under the title: Investigation into the Adverse Effects of the Monoamine Oxidase Transylcyrmine Inhibitor in Patients with Depression (No. 1210).

TEACHING ACTIVITY
i) During my education in the USA, I have taught students of the Medicine of the respective Universities in subjects of psychiatry and child psychiatry.
(ii) As Assistant Professor of Psychiatry and Pediatrics at the University of Pittsburgh, I assumed the responsibility of the Educational Program of Specialists, as well as the supervision of medical students.
(iii) During my term of office at the CPC of the 2nd University Clinic, I founded and organized the department of Child Psychiatry, where I taught and supervised the psychiatric specialists, as well as the rest of the staff.
iv) As a Director of the Department of Psychiatry, General Hospital Papanikolaou, I taught in the Nursing Program of the Hospital with lectures.
v) In Ippokrateio General Hospital of Thessaloniki, I organized and continue to teach at the annual, weekly Educational Program of the Department of Child Psychiatry.
vi) I teach at the Annual Nursing Program at “Ippokrateion” General Hospital of Thessaloniki.
vii) As a Scientific Associate at the Psychiatric Hospital of Thessaloniki, I teach in the corresponding Educational Program of Nursing Psychiatry
viii) 1990 – 2007: I teach in the Department of Preschool Education of the Pedagogical School of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki the courses “Psychopathology of Preschool I, II”, “Preschool Psychology I, II”, “Developmental Problems of the Child in Early Age” “Psychoanalysis and Education”.

1979: For one semester, I took over the Department of Day Care at New Jersey City Hospital, for children with special developmental needs.
1979: Counseling Psychiatry in New York’s Educational System.
1979: Director of the Children’s Psychiatric Service of the University of Pittsburgh at Children’s Hospital, and the Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic of the University.
1979-1984: Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Pediatrics of the Pittsburg School of Medicine.
1985: Director of the Department of Psychiatry of the General Hospital of Papanikolaou.
1987- 2007: Director of the Children’s Psychiatry Department of the “Hippokrateion” General Hospital of Thessaloniki.
3-year collaboration with the First University Psychiatric Clinic of Thessaloniki (Director: Professor Kaprinis). Organization-Supervision of Child Psychiatric Services at the Psychiatric Support Center, Clinic (Vardaris area).

RESEARCH ACTIVITY
1974 – 1977: JOHN’S HOPKINS UNIVERSITY, Phipps Clinic, Baltimore, USA
During his studies as a Psychiatrist at Phipps Clinic of John’s Hopkins University, he participated in a research group, formed by Mr. John Money, a Professor of Psycology and associate of the Department, working in his products on psychosocial dwarfism, children suffering from Turner syndrome and abused children, as well as in groups on preoperative assessment and preparation of persons diagnosed with transexualism and sex orientation.
1977 – 1979: COLUMBIA UNIVERSITY, Presbyterian Hospital, New York, USA.
During His Studies in Child Psychiatry at the Presbyterian Hospital of Columbia University, he closely co-operated Professor Kim Puig-Antich and participated in his research group that performed biological research Depression in Children. The research was funded by the National Institute of the Research of the USA (NIMH). He was also involved in final drafting of structured interviews, analysis and evaluation of criteria for the DSM that was getting elaborated at that time at Columbia University.
1979 – 1982: PITTSURG UNIVERSITY, School of Medicine, Pittsburg, USA.
He was assigned the position of Clinical Supervisor in an inter-university study on comparative ways to treat depression, which was funded by the National Institute of the Research of the USA (NIMH).

PITTSURG UNIVERSITY, Children’s Hospital, Pittsburg, USA: Main Researcher in a study on constitutional delay of puberty and triggering puberty in males.
At the Western Psych. He took part, as noted above, in the NIMH research of childhood depression (Prof. Marika Kovacs).. He was also one of the main supervisors in the NIMH research of therapeutic results of adult mood disorders (Pharmacotherapy, Cognitive therapy, interpersonal Psychotherapy)
1991: Member of the WHO Research Group on Thalassanemia and Sickle-Cell Anemia.
1996: Proposal for the creation of consulting stations by the Child Psychiatry Department of Hippokrateion” General Hospital of Thessaloniki, in the Municipalities of Neapolis, Ampelokipoi, Kalamaria and Mechaniona, following an approval of a relevant recommendation he submitted in 1995.
